Image Outliner — Add Clean Outlines to Any Photo (Free for Logged-In Users)
We are happy to introduce Image Outliner, a focused tool for creators who want a crisp border around a person, product, logo, or sticker-style graphic—without wrestling with manual paths in desktop software.
What Is Image Outliner?
Image Outliner adds a smooth, circular-kernel stroke around the visible pixels of your image and exports a transparent PNG. You control stroke color with a full color picker and stroke width with a slider (1–40 px). The preview uses a checkerboard background so you can see transparency clearly.
It is free for signed-in users (no credits). Sign-in lets us align the experience with the rest of VibePicture and reuse our existing, high-quality background-removal pipeline when you need it.
Two Ways to Work With Your Image
1. Optional “Remove background first”
When Remove background first is enabled (default), we use the same AI background-removal API as our Background Remover when your image does not already have meaningful transparency. That gives you a clean cutout before the outline is drawn—ideal for portraits, products, and busy scenes.
If your file is already a transparent PNG, we skip removal and outline the subject directly.
2. Outline without removing the background
Turn Remove background first off when you want a frame-style outline around the full image (for example, a rectangular photo with a solid border) or when you already prepared transparency elsewhere. The outline step runs entirely in your browser after any optional server step.
How to Use It
- Upload or paste — Use a file, an image URL, or paste from the clipboard (where supported).
- Tune the look — Pick color, drag thickness, and decide whether to remove the background first.
- Run — Click to process; then download the PNG or copy it to the clipboard.
That is the whole loop: one page, a few controls, and a result you can drop straight into social posts, marketplaces, or design tools.

- Outline rendering happens client-side in the browser (canvas-based), so the heavy pixel work for the stroke does not require a separate “outline API.”
